Carolyn M. Afari is a Personal Injury Attorney at Omega Law Group. Carolyn focuses her practice on various types of personal injury matters including auto accidents, slip and falls, trucking accidents, and premises liability cases. Carolyn has experience in both litigation and prelitigation aspects of personal injury.
Carolyn was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2012 and is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Central and Eastern Districts of California. Carolyn received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California in Business Administration with an emphasis in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance and Business Consulting. After several years of doing government contract negotiations for a Fortune 500 military defense contractor, Carolyn returned to school and obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of West Los Angeles, School of Law. While in school, Carolyn dedicated countless hours tutoring other law students in subjects including, Contract, Property, Torts, Evidence, Civil Procedure, Legal Research and Writing, and Remedies. After graduating law school, Carolyn was invited back to the University of West Los Angeles, School of Law as an adjunct professor for one year to teach Legal Research and Writing.
Prior to joining Omega Law Group, Carolyn practiced Bankruptcy law and civil litigation for over a decade. Carolyn Bankruptcy practice focused on Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, Adversary Proceeding cases, and creditor rights work, where she represented high net worth individuals and corporate business Chapter 11 debtors and confirmed successful reorganization plans discharging hundreds of millions of dollars of debt for her clients. Carolyn also co-authored a law school textbook used by M. Jonathan Hayes called A Summary of the Law of Business Organizations by M. Jonathan Hayes and Carolyn M. Afari © 2015. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family and friends and giving back to her community. Carolyn is fluent in Farsi and conversant in Spanish.
